Three big hits in ‘Taal’, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and the recent ‘Josh’ have proved the lady has mettle. Now a box-office heavy weight, the slim Aishwarya carries a bank balance that’s proportionate to her star status if not size. The industry grapevine has it that the light-eyed Ms. World has hiked her market price to a whopping two crore. That’s close to what the Big B got at one point in time. Well he plays her father in Yash Chopra’s ‘Mohabbatein’ and considering child is the father of man we just believe Ash is learning superstar habits already. Talk about ‘ash’es turning to riches...

Aishwarya In Town -

Aishwarya Rai was in New Delhi with Anil Kapoor and Tabu for the Satish Kaushik Directed Film, Humara Dil Apke Paas Hai. The scene was of a school function in which Aishwarya Rai & Anil Kapoor's children (a boy and a girl) are supposed to recieve the award for the Best Students of the year by Minister Ajay Sharma .The venue chosen for the shoot was Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai. There was a massive crowd which gathered to witness the shooting. Aishwarya Rai was also seen shooting in and around the city for many afterwards. The music of the movie given by Sanjeev-Darshan is going to be released on 25th August and the movie can be expected to be released this year.

Dhai Akshar Prem Ke -

Producer-director Raj Kanwar's, lead pair Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, and the entire unit of Inderjit Film Combine’s Dhai Akshar Prem Ke returned on June 22 after caning four songs during a 21-day shooting stint at locales in and around Scotland and Switzerland. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Tanvi Azmi, Neena Kulkarni, Sushma Seth and Amrish Puri. Music by Jatin Lalit, lyrics by Sameer, story by Raj Kanwar,action by Bhiku Verma, editing by Kuldip Mehan and sound by Jagmohan Anand are the major credits. K. Pappu is the co-producer.The movie is scheduled to be released on September 29 all over.

Friends Forever -

This happened at the launch of Shankar's new film 'Nayak' staring Rani Mukherjee and Anil Kapoor. Aishwarya Rai who was also present at the launch seemed to be having a particularly good time especially since she was with Shankar on of her favourite industry people. Interestingly, during the course of the evening Ash and Rani were seen secretively discussing something about reaching another venue. And as the night progressed the two left in separate cars at two different cars but to reach the same venue.

Yet Another Award -

For Aishwarya Rai, it marked a return to the international limelight. And for Hindi cinema, which already has a glut of prestigious national awards and at least one other international award coming its way at the Nassau Coliseum, New York, as Mumbai cinema took centrestage at the second Zee Gold Bollywood Awards 2000.

Tanjua Signs Hrithik & Ash -

Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan have been convinced by Tanuja Chandra for her upcoming movie. Tanuja, meanwhile is laughing all the way to the bank. Distribution territories are being quoted at a premium and music rights have been sold at a fancy price. Tanuja has recovered her money and made profit even before the Mahurat Shot.

Amitabh Beats Aishwarya Rai -

The biggest icon of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, has been earlier voted as the actor of the millennium & now he will be immortalised in wax at Madame Tussaud's wax museum in London because he he has beaten his closest competitor, Shahrukh Khan, by 1500 votes, while Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai, both have managed to get only 800 votes each .Best of luck to Aishwarya Rai next time !!!

Out Of Mom's Control -

Aishwarya Rai's mother Vrinda had met with an accident last month and she's well on her way to recovery now. Earlier she used to keep a close tabs on her going out-of-line daughter fearing that playboy Salman may venture more closer eventually settling into her life. But still she could not keep the lovers apart. After the accident, Ash had the liberty to go alone on the sets and tours since Vrinda could not accompany her. And even now, she refrains her mother from coming with her on the pretext that she has grown up & is well settled in the industry and no one can budge her from her good uncompromising girl position.
Poor Vrinda could do nothing but surrender to her daughter's adamant position. But still she keeps in touch with her daughter and chats with her on her cellphone and also keeps Salman in her vision so that she can keep him away from her doll.

Ash to be waxed -

Madame Tussad's at London ,a well reputed museum which houses great personalities in wax models is considering to put models of at least one bollywood star out of 5 probable ones which include Ash, Big B, MD,SK, etc...

Taj Mahal For Aishwarya -

We have a grapevine that is currently doing the rounds. Salman Khan is so obsessed with Aishwarya that he has bought a new furnished apartment for her. Those who have seen the apartment say that the rooms are furnished with marble and dim lights in the rooms make one feel that the apartment is no less than Taj Mahal. Wow ! What a gift from Salman to his Anarakli

Salman wanted Ash to see the new apartment, but he found that she had already left the city to shoot for Raj Kanwar's new movie Dhai Akshar Prem Ke. The movie stars junior B Abhishek opposite the Miss World. So apna Saalu airdashed to that city and shot off to the sets where in he kept chirping with Ash in between the takes. Raj could no longer bear it and realised that the whole session would be spoilt unless he took some action. He sprung up with an idea and offered a special appearance role to our baba so that the shooting could go on smoothly.

One would not be surprised if we see Salman in special appearance roles in Ash's movies from now onwards. Producers and Directors, take this is a tip from Mr. Raj

Will Ash Kiss Kamal ? -

Rani Mukherjee succumbed to his lip power in Hey Ram but he failed to convince Tabu suitably for the act in Chachi 420. The big question now is will Ash do it ? We're talking about Kamal Hassan, folks, and his penchant to give that l-o-o-ng on-screen smooch to his heroine in at least one scene in every film. In industry parlance its jokingly known as 'the occupational hazard' that his heroines face while working with Kamal.

And now that hotshot South Indian producer Kalai Puli Thaanu has signed up Kamal and Ash for his next mega venture, the question doing the rounds is whether Kamal's charms will work on Ash, prompting the gorgeous girl to pucker up her pretty lips for the perfect whammer in front of the camera. Knowing Ash's finicky sensibility when it comes to doing smooching scenes, it's going to be mighty challenge for Kamal.

Rajani, Ash to star together? -

There is a heavy duty buzz in the Kodambakkam circuit about Rajinikanth's next project. Word is that K S Ravikumar -- director of the latest Rajini superhit, Padayappa -- might be at the helm of affairs yet again. And that it could team the superstar opposite Aishwarya Rai. Both Rajini and Ash have expressed in public their desire to work with each other and this upcoming project is reported to be the fruition of that dream.

Aishwarya Rai's Mother Injured -

Aishwarya Rai’s mother Brinda Rai was injured in a car accident while she was returning to Mumbai from Kolhapur. (Even Ash’s brother was in the car). They were rushed to a local hospital with thankfully minor injuries in the head as well in the ribs (Brinda’s). Mama Rai will be moved to a hospital in Mumbai tomorrow.

Injured Aishwarya -

It remains a mystery how Aishwarya Rai fell down the stairs on February 6 after she rang the doorbell of her own house in Bombay, returning from a late-night party thrown by T Subirami Reddy.
The beauty queen is not badly hurt, just a bruise on her forehead and a knock on her elbows. But enough for her doctor to prescribe her complete bed rest for a full week.
